Here is an idea I just came up with at lunch for a student desk with a built in Tablet. I'm not sure if it should be able to be taken out of the desk. So you could then take it home to do homework. If it did it would probably never be seen again. It would be able to interface with the large screen that the teacher would have up at the front of the room.

You can probably work this with the iPad or something similar that is already on the market in order to limit costs. Instead of pursuing the technology side, redesign how desks interact with students. If that makes sense. Seems really cool. I like Hobo Chicken too.
